WASHINGTON – Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino commented on the letter sent to Chairman Grassley from 65 women from bipartisan backgrounds vouching for Judge Kavanaugh’s integrity and respect for women:

“Judge Kavanaugh has denied this allegation and over 60 women – with a broad range of political views – who’ve known him since high school, have sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee vouching for his integrity and respect for women over that time. This is nothing more than a last-minute attempt at character assassination, and there should be no delay in confirming Judge Kavanaugh.”

Judge Kavanaugh submitted a questionnaire of over 17,000 pages, participated in two full days of public Senate hearings as well as a private session to discuss his background, and then he answered an additional 1,200 follow-up questions. We look forward to his prompt confirmation to the Supreme Court.”

On Day Two of Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings, a number of Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee appeared to be sizing themselves up for black judicial robes.

If they weren’t doing that, they were lamenting the fact that someone of their own great wisdom couldn’t sit on the Supreme Court — the highest legislature in the land, they seem to think — and rule the country from their lifetime position.
