Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino Responds to Martha MacCallum Interview with Judge and Mrs. Kavanaugh
Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino Responds to Martha MacCallum Interview with Judge and Mrs. Kavanaugh:
“As expected, Brett and Ashley Kavanaugh came across as the genuine and sincere people that they are. It is appalling to watch them both dragged through the mud as part of a disgusting, politically motivated character assassination and last minute smear. Not only does Judge Kavanaugh continue to unequivocally deny these heinous allegations, but not one of the alleged eyewitnesses can corroborate either Dr. Ford’s story or the claim Ms. Ramirez describes. This circus needs to stop. The Senate Judiciary Committee should hold its hearing on Thursday and then vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.”
Judicial Crisis Network’s Carrie Severino Responds to New Yorker Article
WASHINGTON – Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino issued the following statement in response to today’s New Yorker article:
“Senate Republicans must not allow unsubstantiated and discredited allegations from over three decades ago to destroy the life and reputation of a good man. Countless people from every phase of Brett Kavanaugh’s life have testified that he is a good man of the highest character and integrity. Chuck Schumer vowed to oppose Kavanaugh with everything he’s got, and apparently that took the form of character assassination. This has all of the ingredients of a smear campaign on steroids. Senate Republicans should stand up to these unsubstantiated and discredited allegations and move forward with a vote to confirm Kavanaugh.”

Judicial Crisis Network Announces $1.5 Million Ad Blitz Featuring 35-Year Friend of Judge Kavanaugh
Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino
“This 11th-hour character assassination does not add up. We are not going to stand by and let Judge Kavanaugh be smeared. Countless women have attested to his exemplary personal and professional character throughout his life.”
JCN’s Carrie Severino Responds to Washington Post Article
For Immediate Release:
September 16, 2018
WASHINGTON – Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino responded to the Washington Post’s article from earlier today:
“Judge Kavanaugh is admired in his church, in his community, and in his profession. Throughout his distinguished career in public service, he has undergone half a dozen FBI background checks, and never a whisper of misconduct. Until the eve of his confirmation. Sixty-five women who were his contemporaries during high school have all come out saying that Brett Kavanaugh was and is a man of character and integrity. Countless women who have known Brett Kavanaugh personally and professionally spanning three decades have all testified to his respect for women, his character, and his integrity. Furthermore, Senator Feinstein apparently did not believe the allegations were serious, credible, or relevant enough to share with the FBI or any other member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, even in the confidential background portion of the committee process. It doesn’t add up. But what does add up is that Democrats are doubling down on a strategy of character assassination, seeking to destroy the life of a distinguished public servant for the sake of appeasing their base.”
Background:
Kavanaugh “has always treated women with decency and respect.” – Letter from 65 women who knew Brett Kavanaugh when he was in high school
“Throughout the more than 35 years we have known him, Brett has stood out for his friendship, character, and integrity. In particular, he has always treated women with decency and respect. That was true when he was in high school, and it has remained true to this day.”

Kavanaugh was “always humble… kind, accessible” – Letter from former Yale College female classmates
“Before he was a lawyer and a judge, Brett was an excellent student, a dedicated basketball player, and a great friend. He earned top grades, but was always humble; he never showed off his obvious brilliance or acted arrogantly. He was kind, accessible, and had a quick sense of humor. Brett was and remains a loyal friend to us and to many of our classmates.”

Kavanaugh is “a man of the highest integrity” – Letter from female colleagues who served with Kavanaugh in the Bush White House
“And in Brett Kavanaugh, we got to know a brilliant lawyer, a thoughtful friend, and a man of the highest integrity… As former colleagues of Brett’s, we know his commitment to equal treatment of women in the workplace and are especially proud of his efforts to encourage and support women lawyers.”

Kavanaugh has a strong “record of supporting women” – Letter from Kavanaugh’s former female law clerks
“But the Judge’s record of supporting women is as much qualitative as it is quantitative… He has counseled us on our career options, provided honest and highly valued recommendations to prospective employers, and sometimes given a much-needed nudge to those of us to doubted whether we were qualified to chase our ambitions. It is not an exaggeration to say that we would not be the professors, prosecutors, public officials, and appellate advocates we are today without his enthusiastic encouragement and unwavering support.”

“Kavanaugh’s character is exactly what the Senate should be looking for in a nominee for such an important position.” – Julie O’Brien, mother of one of the girls Judge Kavanaugh coached in basketball
“I have had the pleasure of knowing Brett Kavanaugh for years not as a federal judge, but instead as the coach of my daughter’s middle-school basketball team. In that capacity, I can personally attest to his kindness, leadership, and helpfulness. Judge Kavanaugh’s character is exactly what the Senate should be looking for in a nominee for such an important position.”

Kavanaugh was “composed and respectful.” – Letter from parents of girls Judge Kavanaugh coached

JCN’s Severino Comments on Letter from 65 Women Vouching for Kavanaugh’s Integrity
“This is nothing more than a last-minute attempt at character assassination, and there should be no delay in confirming Judge Kavanaugh”
WASHINGTON – Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino commented on the letter sent to Chairman Grassley from 65 women from bipartisan backgrounds vouching for Judge Kavanaugh’s integrity and respect for women:
“Judge Kavanaugh has denied this allegation and over 60 women – with a broad range of political views – who’ve known him since high school, have sent a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee vouching for his integrity and respect for women over that time. This is nothing more than a last-minute attempt at character assassination, and there should be no delay in confirming Judge Kavanaugh.”
JCN’s Severino Responds to Feinstein’s Announcement
For Immediate Release:
September 13, 2018
WASHINGTON – Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino responded to Sen. Feinstein’s announcement today:
“This has all the indicators of an 11th hour character assassination and a desperate attempt to delay and defeat the nomination of Judge Kavanaugh, who has a sterling reputation in his community, his profession, his church and among hundreds of friends, colleagues and co-workers. Judge Kavanaugh submitted a questionnaire of over 17,000 pages, participated in two full days of public Senate hearings as well as a private session to discuss his background, and then he answered an additional 1,200 follow-up questions. We look forward to his prompt confirmation to the Supreme Court.”

JCN’s Severino Responds to the Left’s Attempts to Bribe and Physically Threaten Sen. Collins and Her Staff
Judicial Crisis Network’s Chief Counsel and Policy Director Carrie Severino responds to the left’s attempts to bribe and physically threaten Sen. Collins and her staff:
“Instead of condemning the outrageous tactics of Judge Kavanaugh’s opponents, and announcing their support for an objectively extraordinary nominee, Senators Manchin, Heitkamp, Donnelly, McCaskill, and Nelson are standing on the sidelines while Judge Kavanaugh’s opponents resort to bribes, smears, and physical threats.”
